Our rate for research and report is £8-50 per hour + expenses.

Expense Items.

eg Photocopying, entrance fees, parking charges and telephone calls.

Birth, marriage and death certificates are charged at cost + £1 handling charge.

Our charges for guiding (using our 4 wheel drive vehicle), are £10-00 per hour + 10p per mile.

At your initial contact with us we will enquire as to your budget and advise you as to projected costs. A deposit of £17-00 is requested with balance payable upon completion of the agreed programme of research.

Payment.

Cheques should be made payable to Frank Watson.

We would prefer overseas customers to pay by sterling draft / cheque.

Foreign currency cheques are accepted but please add the equivalent of £6 (G B) to the total to cover conversion costs.

Terms and Conditions

1) Before starting a commission it is best to give all relevant data, (certificate information, family members, ages, etc), as this can greatly reduce search times, thus reducing your charges. Please ensure that all relevant information is as accurate as possible to avoid negative search results.

2) Please remember that searches can often produce negative results. A search in a register may not result in an entry for your ancestor, however, the time taken on the search must still be charged for. Prices quoted are for time taken to search the various records but positive results cannot be guaranteed.

3) Commissions will be discussed prior to payment. Type and length of search will be agreed along with budget allocations. Research times will not exceed budget set unless specifically agreed beforehand.

4) Once a commission is begun, if the client wishes to cancel at any time, the search can be stopped but work carried out up to that time must be paid for in full.
